In Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, you take over a farm and work to revive its once-famous but now nearly empty bazaar, raising crops and animals, then selling what you make at your own stall. There’s a mill on the farm you can repair to turn raw ingredients into finished goods and even craft gifts for villagers, and the better your stall does, the more the bazaar grows, drawing in new permanent villagers and stall owners.

Wind runs through most of the game’s mechanics, you’ll use a glider to get around town quickly and windmills to harvest gusts for new products to sell. There’s also romance, with 12 possible partners among the townsfolk to build a relationship with, and eventually start a family with, as the town comes back to life around you.

You get to befriend the dozens of memorable characters from Disney and Pixar as you help them gain back their memories after the forgetting happens. With a lot of crafting this adorable life-sim game will become your home away from home. I’ve designed quite a few cozy spaces now in my valley.

I’ve been playing Dreamlight Valley since early access and it’s recently been shelved because I’m obsessing over Palia right now but I know I’ll return to it soon. If you’re a Disney adult and you’ll love this cozy game.

In Palia, you play as a Palian who appears in a fantasy world and gradually pieces together what happened to the ancient humans who used to live there, all while building up your own home plot and living however you want, farming, fishing, cooking, or foraging your way through it. It’s free to play and built as an MMO, so you’ll run into other real players as you explore areas like Kilima Valley, Bahari Bay, the Elderwood, and the Royal Highlands, gathering ingredients and rare critters.

There’s a full relationship system with the local Majiri too, you can befriend or romance them, learn their backstories, and build up your standing with the community through gifts and skills like crafting, hunting, and fishing. From a recent life sim to a fan fav. In Stardew Valley, you inherit your grandfather’s rundown farm and move out of the city to fix it up, growing crops, raising animals, fishing, mining, and foraging your way through each season while getting to know the people in the nearby town of Pelican Town. There are twelve possible marriage candidates to build a relationship with, gifts and events tied to each one, and a mine below town filled with monsters, ore, and gems to work through as you upgrade your tools and equipment.

Outside the farm, there’s a fair amount to dig into: a community center to restore (or a warehouse to buy out, depending on which path you take), a full crafting and cooking system, and four-player co-op if you want to run the farm with friends. I found over 50 games like Stardew Valley too!

Wylde Flowers is available on Nintendo Switch & is compatible with Switch 2

Stardew Valley has you moving to a small town to run a farm, and Wylde Flowers borrows that same setup, then adds a secret double life on top of it. Tend your crops, raise some animals, fish and cook by day. But by night discover how Tara learns that she is a witch, learning to fly a broomstick, brew potions, and even transform into a cat, all while working her way into a coven.

There are 30 fully voiced characters to get to know around Fairhaven, seven of whom are romanceable, and the story leans more heavily into a written, voice-acted narrative than Stardew’s does, running somewhere between 35 and 60-plus hours depending on how much you explore.

Cozy Grove is a hand-drawn life-sim where you – the new spirit scout – lend a hand to the island’s cute ghosts. Collect badges for helping them out, unearth secrets, listen to their stories, and complete quests. 

What’s incredibly unique about Cozy Grove is its setting – its muted color palette just begs to be filled in like a paint-by-numbers page. Every time you help a ghost, they color in the area around them as if you’ve just brightened their tiny part of the island by being their friend.

Cozy Grove had you stranded on an island with a ghostly cast to help, and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit keeps that same premise but stands entirely on its own, no need to have played the first game to follow along. A bus crash strands you alone on a new island, where you meet familiar faces like Flamey and Mr. Kit alongside a fresh cast of spirit bears who need your help remembering their pasts and finding peace, all while you work on repairing your bus to reunite with your scout troop.

Day to day it’s the same crafting and decorating loop as before, more furniture to collect, a campsite to build up, and new animal companions to raise, including pets like dogs and snails that offer small bonuses as you explore.

Super Farming Boy is available on Nintendo Switch & is compatible with Switch 2

In Super Farming Boy, your evil nemesis Korpo captures your mom and friends and puts them up for sale, so you set out to earn them back by farming your way through an action-puzzle sim built around chain reactions and combos. There’s no toolbox here, you transform into whatever tool you need with a single button, shovel, hammer, watering can, and more, all while flying around and whacking pests that threaten your crops.

Harvesting one crop triggers chain reactions across your farm, so a lot of the challenge comes from planning your planting to set those combos off efficiently. It plays out across a run of increasingly weird seasons too, Radioactive, Volcanic, Timewarp, giving it that “90s Saturday morning cartoon” feel.

I recently played Moonlight Peaks on Switch and it’s one of the better farming games I’ve played in awhile. You’ll shapeshift to explore parts of town you couldn’t otherwise reach, unlock ancestral abilities tied to your vampire lineage, and dig into the history of the seven families who call the town home. There’s also a card game called Nokturna you can learn and play against the locals if you want a break from farm chores.

In Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, you take over your grandfather’s overgrown farm on the outskirts of Olive Town, clearing land and building it up from scratch, complete with fences, sprinklers, and whatever facilities you want to place wherever you want them. There’s a request system tied to helping the town grow alongside your farm, a new cast of marriage candidates to build relationships with, and over 200 seasonal festivals and events to take part in as Olive Town develops.

Earth Sprites are scattered around your farmland, which lead to exciting bonus areas like a garden where the seasons never change, a floating island, or the inside of a volcano. There’s also a tourist system that lets your farmer visit other players’ towns, and a photo mode for capturing moments you can share as loading screens.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is available on Nintendo Switch & is compatible with Switch 2

Tales of Autumn is a wild farming RPG with an emphasis on animals and terrain management.  — Nintendo Store

In Tales of Autumn, you take over an abandoned ranch in the town of Autumn, where you shape the land into different biomes to grow crops and attract the mythical creatures that live nearby, alongside more familiar farm animals kept in barns and coops. Each creature has its own needs, specific feed, habitat, and enough affection through regular brushing and petting, and taming them isn’t optional if you want their unique materials.

There’s also a karma system running underneath everything: helping the town through requests, small story choices, and seasonal festivals builds trust and rewards, while ignoring it makes your neighbors keep their distance. Fishing at the docks or lake rounds it out as the low-key activity between farm chores.

Winter Burrow is available on Nintendo Switch & is compatible with Switch 2

In Winter Burrow, you go home to find it wrecked and your aunt missing, so you set about rebuilding the burrow room by room while venturing out into the surrounding frozen woodland to gather what you need. Days split naturally into foraging and crafting, twigs, wool, and berries turn into knitted sweaters, baked pies, and trade what you make with the local wildlife. Unravel what happened to your aunt.

It’s built to be played at your own pace rather than against a clock, with room to customize your character and transform spiders into something less scary, and decorate the burrow however you like. It’s a great cozy game for winter.

Outside of school hours, you’ll forage in the nearby woods, sell crafts at the Sunday market, take part in seasonal events, and renovate a woodland cottage and garden to make your own.

There’s a full relationship system too, with a cast of dateable characters to befriend or romance and it supports up to 4-player co-op. It’s still unreleased at time of writing, currently aiming for a late 2026 launch on Switch and Switch 2 after being delayed from its original winter 2025 window.

A classic returns. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was first published in 1998 by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. I never played the og game myself because I didn’t have the console at the time so I’m very excited for this. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an action-adventure game with an art-style similar to Twilight Princess.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort releases Oct 22nd 2026 on Switch 2

Play 12 different sports using intuitive motion controls in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, only on Nintendo Switch 2. Head to the island resort of Wuhu Island, and use the Joy-Con 2 controllers as bows, rackets, handlebars and more!  — Nintendo

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is effectively an update/spiritual successor to an older Nintendo game, and it draws from two related titles specifically Wii Sports Resort (2009) and Nintendo Switch Sports (2022). It revives the Wuhu Island setting and resort concept but essentially merges both older games’ identities into one release for Switch 2.

Sports making a return are Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Boxing, and Table Tennis, plus Basketball, Volleyball and Archery. New games are Thumb Wrestling, Skateboarding (using Joy-Con 2’s mouse controls), Power Cruising, Prop Plane flying, and Jump Rope.

Woodo is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

In Woodo, you assemble handcrafted wooden dioramas, turning and rotating each 3D scene to find hidden pieces rather than following one set order. As you place objects correctly, the diorama fills in with color and small animations, telling the story of Foxy and Ben the frog through a series of connected scenes from their shared journey.

Few games earn the “cozy” label as completely as Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In it, you move to a deserted island as part of a getaway package run by Tom Nook, then spend your time shaping it however you want, catching bugs and fish, decorating your home, and building relationships with the animal villagers who move in around you. Time runs on the date and time on your system, so the island changes with your seasons and day/night cycle.

Terraforming lets you reshape the land itself, adding rivers, cliffs, and paths wherever you like, and Nook Miles gives you a steady stream of small tasks and rewards if you want more direction. You can also visit other players’ islands or invite them to yours, making it as social or as solitary as you want.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

Alongside his usual copy abilities, gained by inhaling enemies, Kirby can now use Mouthful Mode, letting him swallow oversized objects like cars and vending machines to gain new, chunkier powers tied to whatever he’s swallowed.

It’s Kirby’s first fully 3D platformer, built around open, explorable stages rather than a straight line to the end, and rescuing Waddle Dees along the way unlocks new areas and attractions back at your hub town. There’s also two-player co-op, where a second player controls Bandana Waddle Dee to join Kirby throughout the adventure.

In Unpacking, you unpack boxes and place belongings in a series of homes across someone’s life, from childhood bedrooms through shared apartments and eventual houses, without any dialogue or explicit story, the narrative comes entirely from what you’re unpacking and where it ends up. Each level is its own puzzle: certain items need to go in specific rooms, some need a particular type of surface or storage, and the layout of a home changes as the character’s life does, new partners, new jobs, new spaces to fit everything into.

This game had me reevaluating every relationship in my life. Hindsight is the melancholic story of Mary, a young woman who must sort through her late mother’s home. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that touches on the relationship between mother and daughter like this before.

You have to relive memories and the heavy emotions that resurface with each old object Mary finds. Hindsight is a narrative exploration game spanning the entirety of a woman’s life. It’s deep. It’s emotional. It’ll tear you apart. Bring the tissues.

Coffee Talk is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

Coffee Talk is a game about listening to people’s problems and helping them by serving up a warm drink out of the ingredients you have in stock. It is a game that depicts lives as humanly as possible, while having a cast that is more than just humans. — Nintendo Store

I’ll never stop raving about this game! Coffee Talk is a visual novel set in Seattle. This is no ordinary coffee shop. This world is one of fantasy, where vampires and werewolves need their evening coffee fixes. Your most regular customer though is Freya, who the story will continually circle back to. Freya is a passionate writer for the local paper and your customers have piqued her curiosity. She’s charming but mischievous, and that’s why I love her.

There’s little gameplay as is the case with most visual novels but you do get to play with ingredients and design some latte art. I had the game set to autoplay after a time so it felt more like watching a movie. It’s not often that I’d rather let a story continue than initiate gameplay, but I found myself creating less and less latte art as the game progressed.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

Explore the vast land—and skies—of Hyrule — Nintendo Store

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link wakes up in a fractured version of Hyrule after losing his arm and gaining a mysterious new one that lets him fuse objects together, build vehicles and contraptions, and manipulate the environment in ways Breath of the Wild never allowed. On top of the familiar surface map, there’s now a series of floating sky islands above Hyrule and a vast, dark underground called the Depths below it, so exploration runs in three directions instead of just outward.

The core abilities, Ultrahand for building and moving objects, Fuse for combining weapons and materials, Ascend for rising straight up through ceilings, and Recall for rewinding an object’s movement, are built to combine with each other, so a lot of the game’s puzzles and combat come down to whatever contraption you can rig up rather than a fixed set of tools.

Little Friends: Dogs & Cats is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

In Little Friends: Dogs and Cats, you pick from 6 dog breeds and 3 cat breeds, name your pet, and take care of it day to day, feeding, petting, and playing with it using Joy-Con motion controls and the touchscreen. You can own up to 12 pets total and interact with 3 at a time, and each one has its own personality and behaviors that come through the more you spend time with them, whether that’s walks, flying disc tournaments, or just fuss on the touchscreen.

There’s a customization side too, over 600 accessories and outfits to dress your pets in, plus room decorating, so a lot of the appeal is just building a little space for your pet and taking screenshots of them in it.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

In RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, you design and build coasters and rides, either from pre-made templates or piece by piece, while landscaping the park and managing staff and guests to keep the money flowing. It’s a remaster combining the best of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon, which first came out in 1999, and its 2002 sequel RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, and it comes bundled with the Toolkit, Wacky Worlds, and Time Twister expansions on top of the base game.

There are also themed scenarios to build in, prehistoric parks with giant moving T-rexes, medieval settings, the 1920s, and more, each with its own layout and challenges. On Switch 2, the game runs at a higher resolution and adds Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.

ABZÛ is an atmospheric underwater adventure in the heart of the ocean. You don’t get any more relaxing than meditation under the sea. You are a lone diver on a journey of discovery – swim with the whales and interact with the world through sonic pings.

There is a story to ABZÛ but it’s subtle. My enjoyment came more so from the beauty and wonder of observing the marine life and exploring the sea. You’ll be soothed by the melancholic score and watch your troubles swim away as you relax in this stress-free environment.

Overcooked! 2 is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

Out of the frying pan, into the fire… You’ve saved the world from the Ever Peckish. Now a new threat has arisen and it’s time to get back in the kitchen to stave off the hunger of The Unbread! — Nintendo Store

Overcooked 2 is basically the game equivalent of a relationship stress test. You and up to 3 friends (or strangers, if you like chaos) run a kitchen together, chopping, cooking, plating, and delivering dishes against the clock while the level itself tries to ruin your life. Most people won’t call it cozy, but try playing it for fun rather than a challenge. Don’t try to get all the stars on each level. When the shouting starts, it’s time to put the controllers down.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

In the Super Mario Galaxy 2 game, Mario is once again called upon to rescue his friend, Princess Peach. This time, he teams up with Yoshi and travels across the universe in Starship Mario, a flying vessel shaped like Mario’s head! — Nintendo Store

Super Mario Galaxy 2 originally launched in 2010 on the Wii, which is when I played it with my player 2. It’s hands down one of my favorite Mario games of all-time! The Nintendo Switch version released October 2, 2025, as part of Mario’s 40th anniversary celebrations, alongside the original Super Mario Galaxy. I recommend getting them both.

Even though there isn’t a seperate witch 2 version, there’s a free enhancement when played on Switch 2 hardware: 4K resolution support, plus in Co-Star Mode (the two-player mode where a second player helps by collecting star bits), the second player can use Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

Luigi’s Mansion 2 has you creeping through haunted mansions with a vacuum and a flashlight, hunting ghosts while Luigi jumps at every creak like the scaredy cat he is. It leans into cozy in its own spooky way, with puzzles to solve, and a goofy charm that makes even the ghost hunting feel more silly than scary.

Strange Antiquities is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

In Strange Antiquities, you run an occult antiques shop in the gloomy town of Undermere, examining and identifying strange artifacts using reference books and careful deduction, then deciding what to do with each one as townsfolk come in with unusual problems. There’s no financial or store management side to it, instead, helping customers earns you new items, book pages, and clues that let you piece together the darker mystery running underneath the town.

It’s a spiritual follow-up to Strange Horticulture, not a direct sequel, so you can play without having played the first. Your choices affect how people’s problems get resolved, and those choices carry through to one of several possible endings.

In Ooblets, you settle into Badgetown and split your time between farming otherworldly crops, growing and collecting the small creatures called ooblets, and building a team of them to compete in card-based dance-offs against other townsfolk. Alongside that there’s a house to renovate, from a rundown shack up to something nicer, a shop to run selling what you’ve crafted or grown, and a mayor to help save the town from whatever’s threatening it.

You’ll explore a handful of distinct regions too, like the arcade-lined boardwalk in Port Forward, the swamps of Nullwhere, and the frozen peaks of Tippytop, picking up new ooblets and seeds as you go, on top of daily challenges, quests, and minigames to keep you busy between farm days.

It’s a sandbox dating sim, so there’s no set path through it. You just wander your house wearing the glasses and see which lamp, houseplant, or kitchen appliance turns out to have a personality worth getting to know. It can be a bit raunchy and has some questionable storylines, but you have the option to skip them.

In Wytchwood, you play as an old witch exploring a gothic, fairytale-inspired countryside, gathering ingredients and brewing enchantments to help, trick, or punish the strange characters and creatures you meet along the way. Every recipe you learn opens up new ways to solve the quests in front of you, so progress comes from experimenting with what you’ve collected rather than following a set path.

It’s built more like a puzzle box than a farm sim: no day cycle, no life sim structure, just wandering the woods, crafting, and dishing out your own twisted brand of justice to whoever crosses you.

There’s a production side to it too. You’ll optimize your sticker sheets to get the most out of your materials, buy upgrades to unlock new graphics and foil effects, and add extras like goodies and custom packaging to keep customers coming back.

In Once Upon a Katamari, the King accidentally destroys the Earth, the Moon, and a handful of planets while messing around with an old scroll, so it’s up to you to roll your katamari through different eras (the Jurassic period, the Ice Age, historic Japan, and more) picking up objects to rebuild the stars. You can play as the Prince or any of his 68 cousins, and customize their colors and faces to make your own versions of them. There’s also a new magnet tool this time around to pull in nearby objects as you roll.

Outside the main story, there’s a 4-player mode called KatamariBall, where you can compete online against other players or offline against the CPU.

The Last Campfire is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

The Last Campfire is an adventure, a story of a lost ember trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home. — Nintendo Store

In The Last Campfire, you play as Ember, a small lost creature exploring a strange world, freeing other stuck creatures called the Forlorn from a stone-like state they’ve fallen into after losing hope. Each Forlorn you find opens up its own standalone puzzle level, and solving it restores them and sends you back to the main world to keep exploring.

There’s no combat or health bar here, it’s all environmental puzzles, sokoban-style block pushing, symbol matching, and small mechanical tricks like guiding fire along pulleys. The world’s split into three areas, forest, marsh, and caves, each built around its own campfire.

Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year Edition is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

In Lil Gator Game, you play as a small gator exploring an open-world island, climbing, swimming, gliding, and sword-fighting your way through it to help the different kids and characters you find scattered across each area, from the Theatre Troupe up in the mountains to the Prep schoolers in the forest to the Cool Kids down in the Creaklands. Most of them need a quest done before they’ll join your growing group of friends, and you’ll pick up crafting supplies along the way to build new gear and abilities, like a ragdoll teddy that launches you from mountaintops down into the valleys below.

There’s no health bar or real combat threat, cardboard baddies included, so it plays more like a movement and exploration game than anything punishing. This edition also folds in the In the Dark expansion, which adds a whole new underground half to the island, roughly doubling the game’s size with new caves, friends, and quests.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you wake up as Link with no memory, in a Hyrule that’s been left in ruin for a hundred years since Calamity Ganon took over. From there you’re free to go wherever you want, climb almost any surface, and tackle the four Divine Beasts and the final battle with Ganon in whatever order you choose, using items and weapons you find or craft along the way, including weapons that break with use and food you can cook to restore health or grant temporary buffs.

Instead of traditional dungeons scattered through a linear path, most of the puzzle content is spread across over 100 shrines hidden around the map, each a small, self-contained challenge that rewards you with Spirit Orbs to increase your health or stamina.

In Cattle Country, you play as a pioneer heading west to start a new life, building a homestead in the mountains that mixes farming, ranching, mining, fishing, and crafting with a Wild West storyline about bandits, cattle drives, and small-town intrigue. Alongside the day-to-day farm work, you’ll get to know the townsfolk, take on 18 possible romances, and dig through the mines for precious metals, minerals, and buried bandit stashes.

There’s also hunting built in, tracking everything from rabbits to cattle across the wilderness, and an underlying thread of trouble to deal with, since not everyone in town has good intentions toward your homestead or your neighbors.

In Dinkum, you start with just a campfire and a sleeping bag on a wild Australian-style island, and build it up into a working town by farming, fishing, mining, and hunting for resources, then selling what you gather for Dinks to fund new shops and buildings. Crops change with the seasons and weather, wildlife ranges from cute to genuinely dangerous, so you’ll need tools and a strategy, not just charm, and the island itself can be reshaped as you go to lay out your town however you want.

As your economy grows, new shops open up and visitors start passing through, some of whom decide to settle for good. You can play solo or bring friends in to build the town together.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

Battle corrupted monsters, rebuild seasonal farms and villages, and form bonds with the colorful locals along the way. — Nintendo Store

In Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, you pick one of two protagonists and take on a corruption called the Blight that’s spread across the land, using sacred treasures, a bow, a talisman, and dance-based abilities to purify farms, villages, and even gods that have been affected by it. Rather than managing a single farm, you’re rebuilding whole villages, placing buildings, drawing people back to live there, and reviving gods to restore resources to the region.

The world is split into seasonal, Japanese-inspired villages, each with its own festivals and traditions, and there’s a full romance system too. You can befriend or romance any of the eligible characters through voiced storylines, and recruit them to fight alongside you once you have.

Harvestella is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

SQUARE ENIX presents HARVESTELLA, a brand-new lifestyle simulation RPG. — Nintendo Store

In Harvestella, you wake up in the middle of Quietus, a recurring season of death that kills crops and makes it dangerous to go outside, and set out to find the cause while farming, raising animals, and getting to know the towns and characters around you. You’ll explore distinct regions like Nemea Town, Seaside Town Shatolla, Lethe Village, and the Holy Capital Argene, working your way toward the four giant crystals called Seaslights that control the seasons.

Combat runs on a job system, you can swap between classes like Fighter, Shadow Walker, and Mage mid-fight, targeting enemy weak points to land Double Break attacks. Outside of that, it’s the usual life sim loop: growing and selling crops, cooking meals that heal or buff you, tending animals, and building relationships with the game’s cast, including four especially close companions you get to know along the way.

Sumikkogurashi Create a Wonderful Sumikko Island! is available on Nintendo Switch & compatible with Switch 2

Enjoy creating a cozy island that matches the seasons with the Sumikko! — Nintendo Store

In Sumikkogurashi: Create a Wonderful Sumikko Island!, you build up an island alongside the Sumikko characters, Shirokuma, Penguin?, Tonkatsu, Neko, and Tokage, by gathering materials, crafting items, and placing them around the island to decorate it. Fulfilling the Sumikko’s time-limited requests raises their Joy Meter, and as the island gets more popular, new areas open up and more Sumikko show up to join in.

The island also cycles through four seasons, so you’ll want to place items that match Season Points to the current one, unlocking seasonal shop items and events along the way. Once you’ve placed something, the Sumikko will actually use it, lounging around or playing with whatever you’ve set up.

In Spiritfarer, you play Stella, a ferrymaster who builds up her own boat and sails it around a mystical world, taking on spirits as passengers to care for before eventually helping them cross over into the afterlife. Day to day it plays like a management sim, farming, fishing, mining, cooking, and crafting to keep your boat and your passengers running, while a second player can join in as Stella’s cat, Daffodil, in local co-op.

This Farewell Edition bundles in the full base game with all three of its major content updates, adding an expanded world and four extra spirits to get to know, and ultimately say goodbye to, along the way.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you arrive at Big Adventures Park to find your Sanrio friends scattered and the island abandoned, so it’s up to your own custom avatar to explore eight distinct regions, from Kuromi’s haunted mansion in the Spooky Swamp to underwater areas in Rainbow Reef, reconnecting with over 100 hours worth of characters and stories along the way. Day to day it’s cooking, gardening, catching critters, solving hidden puzzles scattered around the island, and renovating cabins to attract more characters to move in.

There’s also a full customization side to it, hundreds of outfits and furniture pieces to collect, plus a year-round calendar of seasonal events and character birthdays. Multiplayer lets you team up with friends to explore together, take photos, or decorate shared vacation homes.

Coffee Talk Tokyo is the third instalment of the beloved coffee brewing and heart-to-heart talking simulator. — Nintendo Store

In Coffee Talk Tokyo, you’re back behind the counter of a coffee shop, this time in a version of Tokyo where humans live alongside yokai, brewing drinks for customers like Kenji, a kappa salaryman figuring out life after retirement, and Ayame, a recently deceased It girl adjusting to her afterlife, while listening to their stories unfold over lo-fi beats. Getting their order right matters, and this time you can also decorate drinks with sprinkle stencils for latte art on top of the usual milk and etching.

Outside the counter, there’s a social network called Tomodachill where you can dig deeper into customers’ lives between orders, helping them work through whatever they’re each dealing with. If you loved the first and second game as much as I did, you’ll love the third too.

Dave the Diver is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

Dive by day! Serve by night! The best diving, harpooning, action-adventuring, and sushi restaurant managing experience you’ll ever have. — Nintendo Store

In Dave the Diver, your days and nights are split in two: by day you dive into the ever-changing Blue Hole, harpooning fish and fighting off creatures while managing your oxygen supply, and by night you run a sushi restaurant using whatever you caught, upgrading your gear and equipment with the resources and profits you bring in. Run out of oxygen mid-dive and you lose whatever you were carrying, so the two halves of the game feed directly into each other.

There’s over 200 species of sea life to find across a Blue Hole based on a real marine environment, plus a cast of eccentric characters, side quests, and minigames layered on top of the core loop, all told with a fairly lighthearted, joke-heavy tone throughout.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is available on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2

In Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, Moomintroll wakes up early from hibernation to find Moominvalley completely frozen over by the Lady of the Cold, and himself alone in it for the first time. From there you explore the valley and its surrounding forests and mountains from a top-down view, meeting old and new friends and solving environmental puzzles and quests to help them, while Moomintroll works through his own fear of this unfamiliar, wintry version of home.

It’s a spiritual successor to Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley from the same studio, built as a standalone story rather than a direct sequel, and draws its plot from Tove Jansson’s original Moominland Midwinter.

In Pokemon Pokopia, you play as a Ditto transformed into a human-like form, waking up in a withered, empty world and setting out to bring it back to life alongside Professor Tangrowth and the Pokemon you meet along the way. You gather materials, farm, craft furniture, and build homes, and as you befriend Pokemon they can teach your Ditto their moves, so Bulbasaur’s Leafage grows plants and Squirtle’s Water Gun waters them, giving you more ways to shape the world around you.

It runs on a real-time day and night cycle with changing weather, and once you’ve built up your own home, you can invite Pokemon and other players to visit, either locally or online, or through GameShare even if they don’t own the game themselves.
