Top Games Lists: 10 Cozy Games Like Moonlight Peaks

If you’re a little witch at heart, then these games like Moonlight Peaks are worth getting the crystals out for.

I bought this game at full price. The other games mentioned are for informational purposes only. Please read my disclaimer for more information.

The vampire life suits me.

I’m up when everyone is asleep, the big light hurts my eyes (in the house, not the sun obvs… though I’m not a fan of that either), and eat so many grapes.

Ok, the last one sounds irrelevant but I don’t drink alcohol so it’s the closest I’m gonna get to it, k ๐Ÿ˜‚

Speaking of drink. There’s a lot of it in Moonlight Peaks but we’ll get to that later. I have a very strong opinion on it. You have been warned!

Moonlight Peaks was one of the games I was most looking forward to this year. I didn’t know a whole lot about it, I just thought it looked fricken’ cool.

Vampires, werewolves, mermaids and even Death? Sign me up!

I like a little witchy game as a tarot girly, and Moonlight Peaks ticks all my boxes. If you want even more games like Moonlight Peaks I’ve included them at the bottom of this game review.

What is Moonlight Peaks About?

Experience life as a vampire in a magical town full of werewolves, witches, mermaids, and more! In this supernatural life-sim, you will raise mystical crops, learn spell-casting and potion-making, and befriend โ€“ or even romance โ€“ the locals. And at the same time, show your father (Dracula himself!) that a life of compassion is possible… even for the undead.

Settle down in your familyโ€™s abandoned homestead.

Unravel the mysteries of the seven families that inhabit Moonlight Peaks and bring a bit of light back to this spooky settlement. Just remember to be back in your coffin before the sun comes up!

Your Gothic Homestead

Design your cozy gothic farmstead, turning forgotten land into your sanctuary. Upgrade your tools and develop your property to grow even more enchanted crops and raise magical livestock.

As with any game of this type (ones like Stardew basically) I always start by trying to clear the land around my home. More room for activities you know?

But not long into the game I was able to buy livestock, so the weeding could wait.

My cheekens have hats now!

Dating & Friendships

You’ll need to build relationships with the people of Moonlight Peaks to learn more about the townโ€™s history.

There are currently 23 romanceable characters. There’s no gender-locking and every romance option is available regardless of how you built your own vampire. Character bodies are intentionally gender-neutral.

You can pursue several characters at the same time, but your partners will notice and may comment on it. Marriage, however, is exclusive and you can even turn your spouse into a vampire. Here is more info on how the dating works.

I was surprised at how early on in the game you can choose romance options.

Magical Abilities

From magic watering cans to shapeshifting into other forms, you will study witchcraft to learn spells that will help you on the farm or when gathering resources.

Mini Games

Beyond the farm, youโ€™ll be able to enjoy fishing, foraging, and potion-crafting, along with activities like embroidering, flower arranging, and more.

You can even collect cards for the townโ€™s favorite game, Nokturna, to play against other residents. It could’ve been a standalone game imo.

Is Moonlight Peaks Worth Playing?

Oh hell yeah! If I’m being honest, I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do.

I kinda wizzed through the first 7 days because I couldn’t do much (my health bar depleted at an alarming rate). And then the whole storyline with Orlock and his alcoholism hit too close to home.

I’m pretty sure this game should have a disclaimer about that!

So I was just going to continue playing it to review it for you and then something happened… I got hooked! I cannot put this game down. I’ve even been playing it on the bus to and from work. In just a week I clocked up over 20hrs of gameplay.

Sure it’s not perfect. What with the lack of disclaimers about alcohol use and I did come across a bug. When fishing over a fence I got stuck and couldn’t reel in my catch and had to let it go. Not a biggie. But overall it was worth the full price on Switch 2. It looks gorgeous!

Wylde Flowers

Available on Steam & Nintendo Switch

Wylde Flowers is a story-driven life simulation game with farming and light RPG elements. By day you tend crops, care for animals, fish, craft, and more. But by night you nurture your inner witch as you learn to fly your broomstick, brew potions, control the weather and seasons or even transform into a cat!

The characters have much deeper storylines than Moonlight Peaks and I recommend this game to everyone! Something to bear in mind is that Wylde Flowers places a much bigger emphasis on narrative and relationships. What makes it stand out is the voice acting. Something I feel Moonlight Peaks lacks.

You’ll spend a lot of time chatting with townsfolk, uncovering personal stories, and progressing through the main plot. If you’re looking for a cozy game with memorable characters and a magical twist on the farming sim formula, it’s easily one of the best in the genre.

Fae Farm

Available on Steam & Nintendo Switch

Fae Farm is a cozy farming RPG set in the magical world of Azoria. You’ll grow crops, raise animals, decorate your home, explore dungeons, gather resources, and use magic to help restore the island. The story unfolds independently from the in-game calendar, so you don’t feel like the game is running away from you.

There’s much more emphasis on exploration than Moonlight Peaks. You’ll spend a lot of time venturing into mines, collecting materials, and unlocking new areas rather than building relationships with villagers (who in all honesty lack any and all personality). The romance and character interactions are much lighter, and the townsfolk aren’t nearly as memorable. But the high-quality animations, smooth gameplay, and cozy atmosphere are not disimilar to Moonlight Peaks.

If you enjoy mining and a bit of combat but would prefer a higher focus on exploration it’s worth purchasing when it’s on sale. Personally I think the price tag is too steep and if I hadn’t been gifted a copy I would’ve been annoyed at how much I spent on this game.

3

Wytchwood

Available on Steam & Nintendo Switch

Wytchwood is a cozy crafting adventure game where you play as an old witch living in a mysterious woodland. You’ll spend your days gathering strange ingredients, brewing potions, crafting magical items, and helping (or tricking) the quirky creatures and characters you meet along the way. The world feels like stepping into a dark fairy tale, filled with talking animals, ancient forests, and curious little mysteries to uncover.

There isn’t a traditional day cycle or life sim structure. Instead, the gameplay revolves around collecting resources, discovering new recipes, and figuring out which magical items you need to progress through each area.

Every new ingredient you discover opens the door to another recipe, which helps you solve the next puzzle or unlock a new part of the world. It’s all connected. If you have a wicked sense of humour and love a bit of mystery, play this game.

The Magical Mixture Mill

Available on Steam

The Magical Mixture Mill is a cozy potion-making simulation game where you run your own magical shop. You’ll gather ingredients, grow plants, craft potions, automate your production lines, and slowly expand your little witchy workshop. Rather than farming crops, the focus is on creating a magical supply chain as you discover new recipes and improve your equipment.

Compared to Moonlight Peaks, The Magical Mixture Mill is much more focused on the automation side of game progression. The satisfaction comes from watching your potion business grow, unlocking new machines, and finding more efficient ways to gather and create items.

I adore a game that’s a little bit silly and playing as a former adventurer whose career was cut short by mixture intolerance just tickled me something rotten (as a girly with dairy intolerance!).

5

Little Witch in the Woods

Available on Steam

Little Witch in the Woods is a cozy witch life simulation game where you play as Ellie, an apprentice witch learning her craft in a magical forest. You’ll spend your days gathering ingredients, catching creatures, crafting potions, helping local residents, and restoring the abandoned witch’s house. As you explore, you’ll discover new recipes, unlock new tools, and expand your knowledge of the magical world around you.

Little Witch in the Woods has a much stronger focus on discovery and learning witchcraft. While Moonlight Peaks leans more into building your farm, improving your skills, and managing your daily routine, Little Witch in the Woods is about collecting resources, experimenting with potion recipes, and gradually unlocking more of the forest.

Witchbrook

Wishlist on Steam

Witchbrook is an upcoming witchy life sim game where you attend a magical school and learn the art of witchcraft. You’ll take classes, improve your magical skills, make friends, explore the town, decorate your home, and discover what life is like as a student witch. The gameplay revolves around learning, growing your abilities, and becoming a more skilled witch over time.

Witchbrook appears to lean more heavily into character relationships and the feeling of living out a magical school life. You’ll unlock new spells, improve your skills, and develop your character through lessons and activities.

If you enjoy the idea of a magical Stardew Valley but with a stronger focus on friendships and personal growth, Witchbrook could become one of the most exciting progression-driven witchy games this year.

7

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

Available on Steam & Nintendo Switch

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a narrative adventure game with a witchy twist, centred around tarot-inspired card creation, divination, and uncovering the secrets of a magical society.

You play as Fortuna, a witch exiled to an asteroid who makes a forbidden pact in exchange for a chance at freedom. As you reconnect with old friends and meet new witches, you’ll create your own tarot-like cards and use them to explore their memories, personalities, and possible futures.

Compared to Moonlight Peaks, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a very different game. While Moonlight Peaks uses tarot cards as part of a wider life sim progression system, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood makes card creation one of its main mechanics.

Creating your own cards feels personal, as each one becomes a reflection of your choices and imagination. If you enjoy the mystical side of Moonlight Peaks โ€” especially the tarot, witch coven, and magical atmosphere โ€” The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a deeper world of witches… with consequences.

8

Sun Haven

Available on Steam & Nintendo Switch

Sun Haven is a fantasy farming RPG and life simulation game.

At its core, it’s a farming sim similar to Moonlight Peaks, but it adds much stronger RPG elements. Instead of one farm to tend, you have 3! Play as one of seven races, level through a diverse skill tree, customize your world with thousands of decorations, and romance your new neighbors.

Go achievement hunting for all 177 Steam Achievements related to romance, quests, storylines, festivals, skills, magic, advancements, combat, fishing, animals, farming, and so much more!
