17 Gardening Games on Switch that are Giving Spring Energy
We talk about touching grass a lot as gamers, but nobody said it couldn’t be in-game. If you’d rather spend a lazy day getting a tan in your garden while gaming than actually digging around in the dirt, I’ve got a list of pretty games just for you! It’s time our beloved gardening games on Switch took the spotlight.

I’ve never exactly been green-fingered.
And for the past ten years, I got away with it too. I used to rent a city terraced house with no real garden. Just some tired decking that looked like it had given up on life long before I moved in, and some bamboo that wanted to turn into a forest at the slightest drop of rain.
But then I bought my first home and my garden has become my sanctuary.
It started with just two plants from a trip to the garden centre where I absolutely did not know what I was doing. And now I’m out there most evenings, checking on things like an overprotective plant parent.
Turns out, I love gardening now… but maybe that’s because I’m getting older, slowing down, and making more time for myself.
And I’m not talking about just potting new plants, that all have names btw, but just how less anxious it makes me feel. I didn’t know how gardening could help me feel this good, or even up my fitness levels actually, but somehow, it does. Cutting the grass beats going to the gym any day!
But really, what I love most is simply sitting inside afterwards looking out at the garden. Looking at the hours of weeding, digging and planting I did with my own two hands, and how proud of it I am.
I think I’ve become quite annoying about it actually. All I do now is talk about Hall & Oats (my 2x Acer Trees), and Rachel (a Blossom Tree), and my many, many ideas for what I want to plant next. Who have I become?!
I’ve fallen in love with my little garden. It’s become a tiny sanctuary away from the stresses of my 9-5.
And not surprisingly, I’ve been chasing that exact feeling in games too.
I want cozy plant-focused games for Nintendo Switch where gardening isn’t just a mechanic, it’s a mood. Not farming, I’ve played enough of those. I want to hang out in a garden, care for houseplants, decorate with plants, and maybe even learn about new flower varieties.
I touched on cozy gardening games in my last post, but this time I wanted to dig a little deeper (excuse the pun). Not just games where you water crops for the purpose of collecting resources, but ones that really capture the joy of growing flowers and spending time in nature. Games that let you take control, experiment, and maybe even learn a little bit that can be translated into real life.
Because, as an avid cozy gamer, I do enjoy my games to help me grow as a person too.

You place seeds, repurpose discarded objects, and build small dioramas for nature to slowly take back. The focus leans more towards creativity than challenge, with a huge mix of plants and items to experiment with. There’s also a soft community side. You can share your creations, browse other people’s looping dioramas, and just soak in the calm, ambient soundscapes.
It’s part garden sim, part dystopian builder, part puzzle game. Mostly though, it’s about that quiet satisfaction of watching something worn and forgotten turn into something lush again.

8
Ooblets
Ooblets is a cosy life sim that blends farming, creature collecting, and light deck-building battles into one whimsical cozy game.
You start with a scruffy little farm in a quirky seaside town, then build it up while getting to know the locals and ticking off small quests. Alongside the usual growing and crafting, the big hook is collecting ooblets. These are odd little creatures you actually grow from seeds, then add to your team.
Instead of combat, everything plays out through card-based dance battles. Win a dance-off, and you earn new seeds to grow more ooblets, which loop back into farming and exploration. It’s a bit like a mash-up of a farming sim and a creature collector, but softer and sillier.

A wonderful list and a wonderful hobby! We just bought our first plant for our home too – a palm plant that fits cozily in our living room. Hoping to get some plants out on our patio this summer when the weather is a little more consistent.
