Let’s kick things off with a recent release that may put you off owning a cat. But I must say, my cat has never caused this much mess! This point-and-click, cute physics game takes approx 2-3hrs to complete and is simple enough for casual gamers to play because there’s no real challenge.

Use your tools to clear away crumbs, mop up spills, and finish off by spraying a little scent. Just move through the levels by cleaning and organizing each room.

There’s something so satisfying about taking an utterly filthy thing and making it gleam. It can take anywhere from 50-80hrs to complete solo, so this one is definitely worth the money and tends to go on sale often.

Then there’s its successor, the very addictive PowerWash Sim 2. The devs didn’t try to reinvent the wheel here, they didn’t want to disappoint their core player base who already loved the first game so much. Instead they built upon it, updating graphics, adding fresh new campaigns and locations. And this time, you can pet the cats.

Neat is a cozy narrative game about organizing spaces and helping people organize their lives. Turn messy places into beautiful, personalized environments while discovering the stories behind them. — Neat game on YouTube

Neat! is the debut title and first official game release from independent studio KOROVA. You play as Molly, whose started up a small tidying service. It’s more organizing than cleaning but I felt it deserved a place on this list. Think Unpacking but your a business owner. With 3-5hrs of gameplay it’s on the short side but the price reflects this and I’m excited to see what else KOROVA will gives us cozy gamers in the future.

This next game will be a huge hit for millennial gamers and anyone who prefers physical games over digital. Cozy Game Restoration, is a single-player, ultra-satisfying cleaning and collecting simulator. But unlike other satisfying cleaning games this has a loot box mechanic built in. Each game cartridge has randomized conditions and visuals, with 108 distinct titles inspired by classics from the 1980s to early 2000s. And then there’s the procedural dirt so every single item is uniquely dirty. Sounds grim, I love it!

Undusted: Letters from the Past is available on Loaded (Steam) & Nintendo Switch

Undusted: Letters from the Past is a casual game in which you clean and restore dirty items. What is her story as she returns to a long-neglected house? Enjoy the satisfying audio and visuals featuring sensually designed sounds and graphics. — Steam

So staying on the theme of cleaning up old stuff. In Undusted you revisit past memories by cleaning long-neglected items inside your family home. You play as Adora who learns to understand her mother after her passing as she dusts, scrubs, and polishes her way through old items. It’s an oddly satisfying ASMR game with original background music with a heartfelt story about loss and family at its core.

Hozy is available on Loaded (Steam)

In Hozy, clean, paint, and decorate abandoned homes with satisfying mechanics and intuitive controls. Enjoy the little details as you interact with tools, items and furniture to bring each space back to life. — Steam

From grime to home decorating. I’d argue that Hozy is a cozy renovation and cleaning game because you have to clean up before you can move your tenants in. There’s floors that need mopping, windows that need wiping, floorboards that need replacing and wallpaper that’s no longer trendy.

The upcoming DLCs feature new levels, decorations, music and even more story. Though I think I confused myself when I played it. Maybe I need to revisit it and play those new levels on my YouTube channel soon.

House Flipper Remastered is available on Loaded (Steam), PlayStation & Xbox

House Flipper Remastered Collection lets you become a one-person renovation crew. Clean, build, decorate, and sell for profit! Now with better graphics, voice acting, all expansions in one toolbox, and some more heartfelt addition. It’s flipping time! — Steam

House Flipper is one of the most popular home renovation games but it’s not really described as a cozy game. It has always been marketed as a one-man renovation game. I’d say the House Flipper Remastered Collection, which has all the DLCs included, is definitely more cozy gamer friendly. But only get it if you don’t already have the other games.

Leaf it Alone is available on Loaded (Steam)

Leaf it Alone is a game where you have to deal with thousands and thousands of leaves to be cleaned up! You start small, but it doesn’t stop there – earn money to buy new gear and upgrade what you’ve acquired so far! Unlock new areas and get rid of every single leaf there is, just to find out why there were so suspiciously many of them. — Steam

The only complaints about this game according to Steam reviews is that its too short (gamers wanted more!) and some achievements are too hard to complete the game 100%. If those are the only bad things that can be found, Leaf it Alone is doing a grand job. This little autumn game is ticking a lot of cozy boxes.

If you haven’t had enough of your leaves yet, let me introduce you to Leaf Blower Co. A game about blowing leaves and your cares away. With optional bonus objectives and hidden easter eggs this game has more to it than meets the eye.

If the outdoors is a bit much for you, how about a fridge? That’s right, in this game you play as a small piece of sushi who pressure-washes their way to a clean kitchen. Think PowerWash Simulator but on a tiny scale, and in pixel graphics. It’s a wonderfully silly indie game that takes just 3-5hrs to complete.

Loddlenaut is available on Loaded (Steam) & Nintendo Switch

A change of scenery now as we go deep underwater in one of the cutest cleaning games I’ve ever played! Loddlenaut released back in 2023 to overwhelmingly positive reviews and I don’t think I ever got around to reviewing it here on my blog. Let me know in the comments if I should.

Loddlenaut is an ocean cleanup game where you are tasked with cleaning up after a mega-corporation that has left its crap behind. Along your way you’ll meet little loddles (axolotl-like aliens), protect them at all costs. Because cute!

WYRMHALL: Brush and Banter is available on Steam

Meet quirky characters and clean strange artifacts in this short cozy comedy game. From an enchanted teacup to a cursed skull with a chip on its shoulder, each item and client brings new twists and surprises. — Steam

Go from the depths of the sea to the far corners of the galaxy in this comical shop sim. Wyrmhall is the place between places, where evil schemes brew in the back alleys. Entrusted with the shop for 7 days you need to keep your customers happy as you clean their weird items. And weird is an understatement. There’s only 2hrs worth of gameplay but with multiple endings you’ll be returning to the retail life again and again.

A cozy 2D life sim about running a small-town laundry. Wash, dry, and iron clothes for townfolks. Upgrade your shop, decorate your space, and discover heartwarming stories behind every piece of clothing. — Steam

This washing game doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s already getting attention. It’s a wholesome simulation game with changing weather and seasons. You’ll need to adapt and embrace each day to get your laundry dry and fulfil your customers’requests.

Fofumia is available on Steam

Cyclops Kittens, cozy vacation, and lots of cuteness! Welcome to Fofumia and meet Amanda and Luno as their quiet vacation quickly turns into an unexpected adventure. — Steam

On first impressions Fofumia doesn’t look like a cleaning game. That’s because it’s not really, it’s actually a point-and-click hidden-object game BUT with some charming chaos thrown in. From the studio that brought us Wind Peaks, Fofunos are these one-eyed kittens from another dimension with a lot of energy, and they make a ton of mess. That’s why it deserves a spot on this list.

Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! is available on Steam

Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! is a single-player simulation. You need to return scattered books to their proper places in an Arcane Library. As completed rows of bookshelves, you can learn an ability to improve your efficiency. Use your skills and strategies to shelve 3,072 books as quickly as you can. — Steam

There was some controversary around this next game due to its use of AI and I’m still on the shelf about it. Sorry, bad pun. There seems to be an onslaught of asset-flip simulators on Steam right now – quick to make, cheap to buy. Atleast they were honest in the end about their use of AI. But does that make it a bad game? No. It’s one of those scratch-an-itch types that needs to be experienced to understand.

Just so you know where I stand, I do not agree with the use of AI to copy and steal real peoples work. I’ve had it happen to me and it makes my blood boil. I’ve had people try to model my website and take my copy and content word-for-word and paste it on their own. I know who you are. Stop.

Konbini Cleanup is available on Steam

Konbini Cleanup is a cozy organizing simulator where you sort 2,928 products in a messy konbini. Clean, learn abilities, and restore order in a calm and atmospheric environment. — Steam

First in this section of games is a cozy organizing simulator about stocking up a messy Japanese convenience store. As with similar games in this niche, you can buy upgrades to work quicker and hold more items. Also the gacha game is nice touch.

Full disclosure though (becuase I couldn’t see this myself but found out later) certain textures were generated with AI. But the devs are working to remove these textures, and expect to have them entirely removed shortly.

Tidy Up Together is available on Steam

Tidy Up Together is a cozy organizing simulator about restoring your fantasy Adventurer’s shop. An evil wizard has blasted thousands of your products all over the floor – and it’s your job to put them back! — Steam

Yay a satisfying decluttering game without any AI whatsoever! This multiplayer online co-op features nearly 10,000 items across 14 categories and three shops. Single player is still an option, though it may take you a looong time to complete it. If you love putting things on shelves this might be the game for you. The only downside is it doesn’t have an ending of sorts. So don’t expect a fanfare when you complete it.

Shelve the Potions! is available on Steam

Organize 2000+ potions on shelves after the witch’s cats have knocked them over, using clues around an enchanted cellar. Learn strange symbols, decipher cryptic notes, and uncover the correct shelf orders in a cozy organizational simple puzzle game. — Steam

Now I’m finding even more tidy up games without AI. This is Shelve the Potions! and it’s your first day on apprentice duties, but you weren’t expecting this complete chaos. The cats, who created this whole mess, will provide you with clues, and yep you can pet them.

Restore Your Island is available on Steam

Heal a scarred island, rebuild habitats, play with your dog, design your sanctuary, and relax by the fire. Turn this broken, trash-filled island into a thriving sanctuary — one clean sweep at a time. — Steam

First environmental cleaning game on this list is Restore Your Island, a slow, cozy restoration sim about reviving nature. Watch wildlife return as the ecosystem comes back to life thanks to your clean up efforts. And yes, you can pet the dog.

Eco Volunteer is available on Steam

A peaceful, cozy game about cleaning up trash and other eco-friendly activities in nature. Embark on a journey through stunning natural landscapes while doing good deeds! — Steam

If an island isn’t your cup of tea then what about forests? Take on eco-activism across 5 big maps in this blended walking and driving sim. Although this game is graphically gorgeous to look at you need to restore these natural environments, save the wildlife and any stranded hikers.

Spilled! is available on Steam

Clean up ocean waste in this short & relaxing game! Recycle, earn coins and upgrade your boat. Explore new areas. Clean bigger spills and different kinds of waste! — Steam

Take to the water in this gentle indie game lovingly created by a solo Dutch indie developer who actually lives on a boat she bought and renovated herself. Inspired by her own life she wanted to create a game where you operate a small solar-powered boat, cleaning polluted waterways and collecting waste as part of an environmental clean-up.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is available on Loaded (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch & iOS

Even the smallest person can make a big difference. Join Alba, as she sets out to save her beautiful island and its wildlife. And possibly start a revolution. — Steam

If you’re looking for a wholesome conservation game that doesn’t focus primarily on cleaning, but has an element of it, Alba is that game. And for every download of the game the devs plant one tree! I thought this game would be too young for me but it brought out my inner kid. Help Alba clean up the beaches and convince the town leaders to protect the wildlife with the help of volunteers. You won’t want this game to ever end.
