20 Upcoming & Best Games On Switch 2… so far!
Have you just got a Switch 2 and now you’re looking for some cozy game recommendations? I can help you there!

This post is for informational purposes only. Please read my disclaimer for more information.
It happened! I finally caved and bought me a Switch 2. I’m this emoji right now -> 🤩
I just want to get mushy for a second because, if it wasn’t for you reading my blog posts rather than relying on AI to find cozy games for you, I wouldn’t have been able to afford this console. So please accept my heartfelt gratitude. I appreciate you so much!
And please continue supporting bloggers in other niches too.
It’s getting harder and harder for bloggers like myself to earn a living since AI took over Google search. I’ve been blogging for 4 and a half years now and have no intention of stopping. Even if my ad revenue takes a nose dive I’d still be writing up these listicles for you and reviewing the games I love.
But enough gushing! I’ve been putting off buying a Switch 2 since I already have a Nintendo Switch OLED. But when Nintendo reached out to me with a free game key for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book it was finally time to upgrade.
Probably the most expensive gifted game I’ve ever received mind you because I don’t normally have to buy a whole new console to play gifted games on. Buttotally worth it.
So now I have an excuse to write up a list of cozy games on Switch 2 for you.
The following games are a mixture of new and upcoming cozy games for Switch 2, but also older games that have had a Switch 2 performance upgrade.
Why Upgrading To A Nintendo Switch 2 Is Worth It
The jump from the original Nintendo Switch to the Nintendo Switch 2 feels like a major leap. Games load faster, everything looks sharper and feels smooth and polished.
I’ve not had any game crash on me either. I was playing Two Point Museum on Steam Deck it crashed so much I stopped. Now I have it on Switch 2 and it plays beautifully.
The Switch 2 comes with a much more powerful Nvidia processor than its predecessors, loads more storage, and upgraded tech like DLSS, which helps games look clearer without sacrificing performance.
Handheld mode also feels like a big step up. The new 7.9-inch 1080p HDR screen is brighter, sharper, and much bigger than the original. Cozy games especially look gorgeous! I kinda gushed over Yoshi when I first started playing it because the graphics are just so yummy.
But it is harder to hold in handheld mode. I find I have to balance it on a cushion and I’m even considering getting one of those sofa table thingy to pop it on. I’ve not yet tried using the controllers like a mouse, that seems odd unless I’m sitting at a desk… which I rarely am.
When it’s docked though you can play in 4K on your TV. Now I’m finally glad I upgraded my TV!
Some developers are releasing Nintendo Switch 2 updates for their games. These can improve graphics, speed up loading screens, add sharper textures, and in some cases even expand multiplayer features. But some of these updates come at an extra cost.
Is It Actually Worth Upgrading?
If cozy games are what you mainly play, I’d say yes. A lot of recent games have felt like they were pushing the original Switch a little too hard. Some open world games looked dramatically different from their Steam versions because the og Switch couldn’t handle the graphics.
And on top of that, it won’t be long before newer games are only being made with the Switch 2 in mind. I was surprised I could play TomoDachi Life on my old Switch, actually.
Now, let’s take a look at some games on Switch 2 that either have received an update, like enhanced graphics or new content, and recent game releases.
