My TOP 24 Perfect Cozy Fall Switch Games
While some folks long for pumpkin-spiced lattes as summer fades, my heart yearns for the most comforting cozy Switch games.
21 Cozy Games That Give Off Fall Vibes On Nintendo Switch
Picture this: The rain gently pitter-patters on your bedroom window as you slink into your PJs and hunker down under the duvet at the end of a long day.
You reach for your Nintendo Switch and sip on your piping hot tea as the tiny screen lights up your candle-lit room. But you realize that you finished that last game. What do you play next?
Well, it simply must be a relaxing game because you’ve had a rough day. Perhaps one with some characters that feel like friends? Maybe something a little zen this time, like a coffee shop setting or a national park. Something that will give you a sense of freedom and escapism. You don’t want to think too hard, nor do you want a game that feels like work… you’ve done enough of that today.
Let’s see now… I know, I have just the thing!
I’ve found 24 cozy fall games that could quite possibly be the antidote to your stressful day. So, grab your snuggle further down in your bed, and let’s take a look at the best cozy games for the fall season.
When I think of fall games I imagine a warm color palette, playing at my own pace and going on great adventures.
A Short Hike ticks every box! You play as Claire, a tiny bird who’s come to Hawk Peak to visit her aunt and get away from city life. Go with Claire as she takes the scenic route to the top of Hawk Peak to try to get a phone signal so she can check on her mom back home. This game remains a firm favorite of mine and I always replay it at this time of year.

Fae Farm
If it’s magic you’re after then this cute game has it. Fae Farm is an adventure game for up to 4 players where you’ll cozy up in your own snug little home in the magical world of Azoria. Personalize your character, become a whiz at crafting and potion-making, and romance the characters.
I found it took a while for me to get into the story and it’s most certainly on the expensive side for what it is. I’ve not seen it go on sale yet either. So if you like the look of it perhaps try the free demo before buying.
Move over Stardew Valley there’s another farming sim in town, and this one’s got dinos! Paleo Pines is a cozy farming sim where cute dinosaurs live among people. If you love collecting things and making your farm a home then this little game could be just what you need.
If you play one game this fall make it Coffee Talk followed by its sequel Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly.
You play as a barista but the main character is your customer Freya. This is a visual novel game that’s been a hit with cozy gamers since its release in 2020.
5
The Wild at Heart
Did you ever want to run away as a little kid? I know I did. Well, that’s exactly what Wake and Kirby decide to do.
The Wild at Heart is a super cute, low-stress game with fantastical characters and a beautiful forest setting. When you meet the sprites you’ll see why I love this game so much.
6
My Time at Sandrock
Let’s be honest, there are a lot of games with farming/life sim elements but none that have taken on the Wild West!
My Time at Sandrock takes you back to the universe of My Time at Portia, but this time, it’s set in a dystopian world. The story takes part in the desert haven called Sandrock. Your task? To rescue this town from the brink of economic collapse and steer it toward a prosperous future.
7
Cozy Grove
Do you want cute ghosts and mysteries to solve but don’t have much time on your hands this autumn?
Welcome to Cozy Grove! As a spirit scout, it’s your mission to bring color back to the island and listen to the tales of the bears that have lost their memories. Cozy Grove is a puzzle simulation that is time-gated so you’ll never lose precious hours of your day.
Complete the daily tasks, decorate your home, and slowly let the game’s story reveal itself to you over time. No pressures, just relaxing gameplay.
8
Paper Trail
Paper Trail is a casual puzzle adventure about moving away from home, set in a foldable, paper world releasing May 2024.
You play as Paige, a budding academic, leaving home for the first time to pursue her studies. On the journey, you learn to fold the world, merging two sides to solve puzzles, explore new areas, and uncover long-lost secrets.
9
OU
OU is an interactive visual novel with hand-drawn visuals that appear to be pulled straight out of a child’s storybook!
If you watched The Neverending Story as a child like I did you’ll appreciate the depth of OU. There are a few monsters you’ll find yourself running away from but it’s not scary at all. OU is slow-paced with minimal gameplay and lots of cut scenes. You’ll need to play it through 3 times to get the true ending.

Enter the enchanting world of Mineko’s Night Market this fall, where the richness of Japanese culture intertwines with a heartwarming tale of friendship, tradition, and an abundance of feline friends.
You play as Mineko, a young girl who has just arrived on a charming island nestled at the foot of Mount Fugu. The artwork will draw you in but the characters will be why you choose to stay.
11
Lemon Cake
Lemon Cake is one of the most quintessential cozy fall Switch games. This cafe management game is set in a little bakery that you need to bring back from ruin.
If you’re feeling overstimulated and need a simple game with lots of repetition I highly recommend this cute game. It doesn’t go on sale fairly often so I’d wait to pick it up at a discount if you can.
If you yearn for a classic this season then it has to be Animal Crossing New Horizons.
When the season changes to autumn it makes me want to redecorate my whole island in earthy shades of orange and brown. This is the only game that I don’t mind restarting once a year (after saving my previous island as a dream to revisit of course).
It’s the perfect comfort game for a rainy day.
13
Wytchwood
Wytchwood is an adventure crafting game that unfolds in an eerie world woven from gothic fables and fairytales.
You play as the cranky witch of the woods whose peaceful existence has been disturbed by a sleeping woman. You’ll need to venture away from home and deep into the woods to find clues as to who she is and how to wake her.
Gather magical ingredients, make potions, and meet questionable characters.
14
Firewatch
You play as Henry in this single-player mystery set in the beautiful Wyoming wilderness.
Your only connection to the real world is through Delilah, your supervisor, via a handheld radio. I don’t know if it’s the autumnal colors or the real voice acting but this entire game had me captivated.
This game has themes that some younger players may find upsetting. Please see the game for more info regarding this.
15
Spiritfarer
Spiritfarer is a cozy management sim that addresses the concept of mortality with profound grace and compassion.
Experience the emotional story of Stella as she goes on a journey across mystical seas on her boat. Farm, mine, fish, and craft during your travels as you sail to tiny islands in search of stuck spirits who need your help moving on.
If you haven’t played this game yet I highly recommend it this fall.
Fancy trying your hand at some tarot? Join the celestial witch community in The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood.
This witchy game is a blend of tarot-style card crafting, divination, and a narrative that branches across both time and space. You’ll need to play this game a few times to see all the endings. I think I still have one left to find!
17
Beacon Pines
Play the memorable Beacon Pines this fall, an adorable yet eerie adventure that unfolds within the pages of a book.
Go on late-night escapades, forge new friendships, unveil concealed realities, and gather potent words that hold the power to reshape destiny.
18
Cat Cafe Manager
Now here’s a cute game for cat moms. In Cat Cafe Manager you inherit an old cafe from your grandma but it requires some love and attention if you want to attract some stray cats.
There’s around 10 hours of gameplay unless you’re like me and have to spend forever decorating, then it may take you 40ish hours to complete. It’s a little buggy at times on Switch though. I wouldn’t pay full price for it.
19
Fall of Porcupine
Has your job got you down? You’re not alone. Finley is a new Doc in town and his dream career isn’t quite what he expected.
Fall of Porcupine is an original narrative adventure and a love letter to those who are there for us whenever we don’t feel like ourselves. It’s perfect for this fall season.
Here’s a game I’ve never got around to playing but my fiance has! He insisted it makes an appearance on this list.
Hank is your typical laid-back teen with dreams of becoming an entrepreneur, so he and his friends start up a bed and breakfast together. Being a bear though has it’s downsides for human tourists.
I personally found the UI too small on Switch which is why I didn’t play it, but that didn’t bother my other half who’s played it for well over 40 hours.
21
The Last Campfire
Nothing says fall vibes better than The Last Campfire. This environmental puzzle game can be found super cheap these days since it was released nearly 4 years ago! You will help these little embers called the Forlorn find hope. You’ll meet some quirky characters as you solve puzzles during your adventures to help the Forlorn. I enjoyed this due to the storybook feel thanks to the wonderful narration.
22
Planet of Lana
A planet that used to be a place of undisturbed balance between human, nature, and animal has now become something else entirely.
The disharmony that had been in the making for hundreds of years has finally arrived in the form of a faceless army. But this is not a story about war. This is a story about a vibrant, beautiful planet –and the journey to keep it that way.

Botany Manor
Botany Manor is set in a stately home in 19th-century England. This walking sim is something special to look at! I dug my fingers into the demo last year and loved every minute.
You play as inhabitant Arabella Greene, a retired botanist. Explore your house and gardens, filled with research, to figure out the ideal habitat of forgotten flora. Grow each plant to discover the mysterious qualities they hold.
