I’m calling it — 2026 will be peak cozy games.
There are already loads of cute, whimsical and fabtastical games lined up for 2026.
It feels like every other indie dev seems to be dipping into life-sims, slow-living, and gentle storytelling lately. Or maybe that’s just the side of the internet bubble I’m in? Not a bad place to be if you ask me.
But, with Steam now having its own cozy games section, this wave isn’t slowing down. Cozy games are offically here to stay. Yay! 🎊
Something else I’ve noticed… the delays of bigger cozy projects are actually helping make 2026 such a packed year.
Take Witchbrook for example. The witch-life-sim we’ve all been patiently waiting for.
So yeah, 2026 already looks absolutely choc-full of wholesome games that deserve to be celebrated. And I’m gonna share a few of the ones I’m most excited for in this post. But first, a little blog update I wanna share with you. My blog readership has grown by 80,000 people this year!

So, I have a confession. My fav game of 2025 wasn’t even a new release. I’d actually avoided it for ages because I didn’t think it was my thing.
That game was Wylde Flowers.
I remember the devs and agencies reaching out to me when it launched, and I was like… nope, looks like a kids game. HOW WRONG WAS I? like fr. Everyone is mostly over the age of 30, ha!
Tara made me laugh, cry, and — more than anything — she made me feel seen.
I’m about 75 hours in as I write this, and honestly, if you haven’t played it yet, please do. I grabbed it in a Nintendo eShop sale, but it’s worth every penny of the full price. You won’t regret it.
