21 Cozy Games For Animal Lovers That Will Make You Go “Aww”
You don’t have to be a pet-parent to experience the joy and wonder of animals. These cute animal games will bring out your softer side.

I’ve been a cat mum for 14 years. But I’m a dog person… go figure! My cat can definitely sense me typing this. She’s holding me hostage at this point.
Actually, I think she can sense I’m a dog person too.
But she didn’t pick me, she picked my husband. He was going through a bout of depression and maybe she sensed that because the moment we stepped into the shelter he was hers.
Tifa came from FAITH Animal Rescue, a small independent animal rescue based in Hickling Norfolk right on the broads. They are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. They have a non-destruction policy, with exception to end suffering and then only on veterinary advice. No animal is “put to sleep” simply because it’s too old, too naughty or too difficult.
All my family’s pets have come from shelters.
I’m a big believer in ‘adopt, don’t shop‘. I’m passionate about giving rescue animals a second chance at a happy life. I’ve always felt strongly about adoption. There are so many amazing animals in shelters who just need a loving home, so I choose to support rescues instead of breeders.
I love knowing that I can give a second chance to an animal that really needs it.
This value is so close to my heart that I volunteered at The Dogs Trust for 2 years. Once a week I would drive 52 mile round-trip to help walk the dogs. I saw all types of breeds from puppies through to elderly.
I don’t own a dog because I work full-time. Cats are a little bit more manageable in that regard. I think my Tifa is happy to see the back of me when I leave for work, bless.
One of my life goals is to get my blog to a place where I can be full-time self-employed so I can work from home and get one or two miniature dachshunds. There are multiple re-homing charities in the UK that specialize in dachshunds.
Over the last decade, dachshunds have become highly fashionable “designer” pets. Their distinct look made them incredibly popular on Instagram. But they are velcro dogs… they are fiercly loyal and don’t like being left alone.
I think many people buy them for their cute looks but don’t realize they are hounds and love to hunt, bark and can be very territorial. They need constant supervision. Sadly, this has resulted in an increasing number being handed over to shelters.
I wish I could save them all!

I’ve broken up the following games into three categories – games where you play as an animal, games about animal welfare, and games with animal companions. I’ll be continuing to add to these categories as time goes on, but this is a starting point.

Animal Shelter Simulator 2 comes with more animals that need your help. You will need to provide them with a clean, safe environment, as well as food and water and, most importantly, lots of love.
The adoption process requires a lot of patience. It is important to pick the correct pet for the right person, and vice versa! In Animal Shelter Simulator 2, the potential adopters will be able to visit the shelter and see the pets for themselves before they make up their mind about them. Remember that a lot of things can impact the chance of an adoption: the animal’s traits, their current state, and even the state of the shelter itself!

To The Rescue! is a charming dog shelter simulator where you are responsible for taking care of dozens of cute dogs in need of a home. It’s not all cuddles and snoot boops though: running a shelter can be a lot of work. You have to manage all of the dogs’ needs in order to maximize their chances of finding the right forever home.
Each day brings new challenges and rewards. Dogs have specific preferences, can get infectious diseases, and can have negative traits. But you can also have fundraisers, get random donations, and help someone find their new best friend. Unfortunately, there’s never enough room, and always more dogs.
Some dogs are more desirable than others, but maybe if you can afford to wait long enough, just maybe, every dog will have their day.
