20 BEST Cozy Couch Co-op Games on Switch
The Nintendo Switch is packed with games made for two (or more) people sharing a screen and maybe a bowl of popcorn. Whether youโre teaming up to run a chaotic kitchen, build a tiny town, or just vibe through a pastel-coloured puzzle world, these couch co-ops on Switch meld cozy and chaos together.

Some of my favourite gaming memories arenโt solo. Theyโre the evenings I spend curled up on the sofa with my husband, both of us holding Joy-Cons, shouting โMore steaks!โ or โWhy did you hit me?โ
… the neighbours are probably secretly worried about us!
Iโll flop on the couch after work with snacks, and heโll scroll through the eShop or YouTube for hours trying to find a new game we can both enjoy. I donโt say it often enough, but thatโs one of the many reasons I love him.
He loves playing games together.
Thereโs just something extra special about playing by his side. We have such different play styles. I get to see his inner child light up and I make him deep belly laugh from the unintentional goofs I make. No one can tell us video games are a waste of time, they are a core part of our relationship.
What is local couch co-op?
Multiplayer, online co-op, couch co-opโthey all mean something slightly different. If youโre new to all this, it can be a bit confusing. Hereโs my quick breakdown:
- Multiplayer = Any game where more than one person can play, either competitively or cooperatively. This includes couch co-op, online, or both.
- Online Co-op = You play with other people over the internet. Each person needs their own console and a stable connection (and usually a Nintendo Switch Online subscription).
- Couch Co-op = Youโre sharing the same screen, in the same room, often with one Switch and two controllers. No internet needed most of the time, just good company.
If youโre anything like me and prefer gaming with family and friends, couch co-ops on Switch are where itโs at. Below youโll find my top picks whether you want to farm, cook, puzzle, or just cause a bit of harmless chaos with someone you adore.
