I’m calling it now — 2026 will be the peak of cozy games!
There are already loads of cozy titles lined up for 2026, and it feels like every other indie dev is dipping into life-sims, slow-living, and gentle storytelling lately. With Steam now having its own cozy games section too, this wave isn’t slowing down any time soon.
Something else I’ve noticed… the delays of bigger cozy projects are actually helping make 2026 such a packed year. Take Witchbrook, the witch-life-sim we’ve all been patiently waiting for. It was pushed into 2026, but that extra time usually means more polish, localisation and a few lovely new touches that make the world feel richer.
So yeah, 2026 already looks absolutely choc-full of heart-melting indies, slow-life sims and wholesome adventures that deserve a spot on your wishlist. From relaxing farm games on Switch to prequels of beloved PC favourites, it might just be the year we all stay indoors again… but for much better reasons.
Now, I know 2026 feels a little way off yet, but I’ve got something to celebrate in the meantime — my blog readership has grown by 80,000 people this year! Honestly, I’m blown away. Anyway, confession time! My favourite game of 2025 wasn’t even a new release. I’d actually avoided it for ages because I didn’t think it was my thing. It came out the same year I started this blog, one of my guest writers reviewed it, and I just… let it pass me by.
One of my guest writers covered it for my blog and shared her review, but I just let it pass me by. Now I’m OBSESSED!
That game is Wylde Flowers. It arrived at exactly the right time, when I’d just moved house and was feeling pretty low. I hadn’t touched a game in four months, and I really needed a story to get lost in. Tara made me laugh, cry, and — more than anything — she made me feel seen. I’m about 75 hours in as I write this, and honestly, if you haven’t played it yet, please do. I grabbed it in a Nintendo eShop sale, but it’s worth every penny of the full price. You won’t regret it.
That game was Wylde Flowers! It came just at the right time because I was in serious need of a pick me up. I I hadn’t touched a game in four months, and I really needed a story to get lost in.
Tara made me laugh, and cry, but most of all, I found her relatable. I’m three quarters of the way through it (75hrs played so far) as I write this and can honestly say – if you haven’t played it yet, you must. I bought it on sale in the Nintendo eShop but it’s worth every penny of the full price. Play it, you won’t regret it.
